18 der Ferne ein alter Thurm. Hier bilden nun sich wieder mehrere parallele Bergzüge in der
19 Normalrichtung, den Namen <anchor type="b" ana="regID_7.lemID_9307" xml_id="TidB31587" data-toggle="joTeiPopoverh" title="Gökdagh" data-ana="regID_7.lemID_9307" data-content=""></anchor><anchor data-toggle="joTeiPopoverh" ana="regID_7.lemID_9307" data-ana="regID_7.lemID_9307" >GökdaghO</anchor> führend. [Einfügungsendzeichen][1] Rechts weg vom Weg liegt <anchor type="b" ana="regID_7.lemID_612" xml_id="TidB31590" data-toggle="joTeiPopoverh" title="Asiabeg" data-ana="regID_7.lemID_612" data-content="">AsiabegO</anchor>, gegenüber von <anchor type="b" ana="regID_7.lemID_9295" xml_id="TidB31591" data-toggle="joTeiPopoverh" title="Berber" data-ana="regID_7.lemID_9295" data-content="">BerberO</anchor>, wird durchritten, wo lebhafter <anchor type="b" ana="regID_6.lemID_734" xml_id="TidB31617" data-toggle="joTeiPopoverh" title="Karawane, Carawane, ..." data-ana="regID_6.lemID_734" data-content="">Carawanen-K</anchor>
2 verkehr, die hier rasteten. Der große Ort wurde durch einen Bach dicken trüben Wassers
3 durchflossen, an dem Verkäufer von Granaten und anderer Früchte saßen. Die Dächer alle
4 kuppelig; nur wenig Gärten erblikt man um alle diese Dörfer, deren Felder gewöhnlich
5 noch mit langen Erdmauern umgeben sind, wodurch die Orte ein großes Ansehen

Arab. تل tall, 'Hügel', ist ein Siedlungshügel, der durch Reste – vor allem von ungebrannten Lehmziegeln – aufeinanderfolgender Besiedlungen entstanden ist. Viele dieser Tells waren mehrere Jahrtausende besiedelt, waren aber zu Haussknechts Zeiten schon lange aufgegeben. Einige bedeutende Ausgrabungsstätten befinden sich in der ʿUmq-Ebene, wie Tell Tayinat oder Tell Açana, die vom 3. bis zum 1. Jahrtausend v.u.Z. besiedelt waren. (SK)

8 eingerissnes Strombett. Dieser Hügel ist eine vulkanische Erhebung nach Südwest, wie fast alle
9 diese zahlreichen kleinen vulkanischen Züge in diese Richtung streichen; er besteht aus dunkeln schwarzen
10 glänzenden Schlacken; auf seinem Gipfel, ca. 40‘ hoch, erheben sich Reste eines Erdfor<anchor type="b" ana="regID_15.lemID_2391" xml_id="TidB1467" class="joTeiKritikPopover-text" title="" data-ana="" data-content="">ts</anchor><anchor class="joTeiKritikPopover-text" ana="regID_15.lemID_2391" data-ana="" ></anchor>T,
11 und am Ostfuße liegt das Dorf <anchor type="b" ana="regID_7.lemID_35" xml_id="TidB31593" data-toggle="joTeiPopoverh" title="Desgird (zwischen As..." data-ana="regID_7.lemID_35" data-content="">DesgirdO</anchor>. Daneben auf einer niedrigen Erhebung war ein
12 Tepe aufgeworfen, das aber durch Regen ganz zerwaschen war. Alle diese künstlichen Hügel

Arab. تل tall, 'Hügel', ist ein Siedlungshügel, der durch Reste – vor allem von ungebrannten Lehmziegeln – aufeinanderfolgender Besiedlungen entstanden ist. Viele dieser Tells waren mehrere Jahrtausende besiedelt, waren aber zu Haussknechts Zeiten schon lange aufgegeben. Einige bedeutende Ausgrabungsstätten befinden sich in der ʿUmq-Ebene, wie Tell Tayinat oder Tell Açana, die vom 3. bis zum 1. Jahrtausend v.u.Z. besiedelt waren. (SK)
